API Keys and Security
How Searvia API keys work, how to keep them safe and how to revoke one.
About 2 minutes
What You Need
- Any plan: Free includes 100 MCP calls a month, Indie 1,000, Starter and above unlimited
- 1
One key per device or app
Account › API & MCP
Create a separate key for each laptop, server or tool, named so you recognize it later. Keys are tied to the account you are in when you create them.
- 2
Store It Safely
The key is shown once. Keep it in a password manager or an environment variable, never in a public repository or a shared document.
- 3
Check Usage
The API keys list shows when each key was created and last used. Revoke keys you no longer use.
- 4
Revoke
Click the bin icon next to a key and confirm. Apps using it lose access immediately.
What You Get
Access you can trace and cut off at any time.
- A key can do what its tools allow: read data, add keywords, and, after you approve in your client, publish replies or metadata. Leaving an account or losing API access on the plan stops its keys.
